Del Norte High School alumni Scott Bamforth recently scored a a game-high 24 points with six 3-pointers along with 7 assists, 6 rebounds in a fund-raising scrimmage for the 2023 TBT (The Basketball Tournament) game at Albuquerque’s Bosque School. The TBT is a $1 million winner-take-all basketball tournament that runs every summer and is broadcast on ESPN. Scott has played for the TBT Enchantment team before, but the 2023 team, which includes mostly UNM Lobo alumni, has branched out to include former NMSU Aggies and a couple players, like Scott, who went to high school in Albuquerque before becoming professional players overseas.
Scott played basketball for Del Norte High School and was named first-team all-state twice, as well as the New Mexico High School Player of the Year in 2007. He left Del Norte as the school’s all-time leading scorer. At Western Nebraska Community College, he averaged 18 points per game his first season (2008–09) and was named to the 2009-10 NJCAA Preseason All-America Third Team. He transferred to Weber State where he played in 99 games overall, with career averages of 13.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He finished 11th in scoring in school history. He earned All-Conference honors each season, and set a school record with 259 career made 3-pointers, as well as the single-season record of 103. In March 2013, he was named to the Weber State Men’s Basketball 50th Anniversary Team, as one of the school’s best 50 players in its history. Scott has played professionally with several European teams and currently plays for Rio Breogán of the Spanish Liga ACB.

July 21, 2023 Update – Del Norte High School graduate Scott Bamforth hit his first seven shots and scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the opening quarter in a lopsided 84-67 Enchantment victory over the Air Raiders, a team of Texas Tech basketball alumni. The game, played Friday night, July 21, 2023, will allow the new Mexico Enchantment team to advance to the Sunday, July 23rd Round of 16 of the $1-million, winner-take-all The Basketball Tournament.

July 23, 2023 Update – Bleed Green, a North Texas alumni team, ended The Enchantment’s run with a 70-57 win in the third round of the $1 million, winner-take-all TBT (The Basketball Tournament) regional inside Texas Tech’s United Supermarkets Arena in Lubbock, Texas on Sunday July 23, 2023. For Enchantment this year’s TBT showing was a step forward, making its third appearance in the event and advancing farther than any previous year. It also demonstrated the cohesiveness of former Lobos and former Aggies playing together.
