Debbie Medina, the Crossroads counselor at Del Norte High School, was recognized at the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education Meeting on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Ms. Medina recently received two letters of commendation: one from the APS Police Department and one from the Special Victims Section of the Albuquerque Police Department that acknowledged her “genuine compassion for the student” and her “professionalism and expertise” in notifying the appropriate authorities. Because of her quick thinking, tireless efforts, and efficient actions in helping one of her students, the FBI was able to remove the student from a very dangerous situation, transfer the student to a safe environment, and ultimately, arrest an adult offender. We are proud to have Ms. Medina as one of our counselors and join the officers who shared their gratitude and admiration of her “dedication and efforts on behalf of all of her students.” Thank you, Ms. Medina, for who you are and what you do for your students.
