Del Norte High School French teacher Melinda Forward was part of a distinguished group of educators who spoke at TEDxABQ, Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the KiMo Theater. The evening was dedicated to making radical impacts in education.
Melinda is passionate about helping schools create a connected, healthy, and inspired school community. She is an activist for happiness in schools with a new vision for a radical solution to the negativity that is chasing so many students and teachers out of schools. She is already making a difference at Del Norte with the “Kindness Club” which challenges schools to find opportunities for students and teachers to show gratitude for the positive impact they make. With the website thekindnessclub.net, which she set up, schools as far away as New Zealand have joined the challenge.
Melinda Forward was also featured in Rosalie Rayburn’s Albuquerque Sunday Journal article “Local French teacher’s ‘thank-you’ challenge brings positivity into schools“.
