On Thursday, March 17, 2016 the APS Education Foundation honored Del Norte’s Mia Edwards. Mia is a singer and volunteers at Joy Junction, Casa Esperanza and Roadrunner Food Bank. Her school choir director said this about her: “Mia exemplifies a true person of character: caring, trustworthy, self-disciplined, passionate, smart and a good leader as well as a good follower.”
The key criteria for the APS Education Foundation’s Selfless Seniors program is simple: Selfless Seniors have given of themselves — often without being noticed. They have volunteered in community programs, within their schools, or helped their families. None are resume-builders; they simply and sincerely want to help.
