Application Requirements and Selection Process
Before submitting your application review the following points to ensure complete understanding of the scholarship application, deadline, and eligibility requirements. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that a complete application and all requested materials are submitted. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Purpose:
The Drawbridge to Success Scholarship provides a one-year $1,000 scholarship to graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing post-secondary education at a New Mexico institution of higher education and are able to demonstrate an extensive record of service, as exemplified by their participation in both school-based and community-based activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have a cumulative 2.5 GPA
- Must be graduating in May 2025 from Del Norte High School
- Must be attending a public two- or four-year institution of higher education in New Mexico in Fall 2025

- Two (2) Personal Essays
- One (1) Letter of Recommendation (cannot be from a relative or legal guardian)
- Current Unofficial or Official High School Transcript submitted directly to the AlumKnights via Parchment. (Please see https://delnorte.aps.edu/our-school/counselor/transcripts for instructions.)
Deadlines:
Applications will be accepted starting January 13, 2025 and must be received online via our website submission form or via e-mail at scholarships@alumknights.info by February 16, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Please note that your most recent unofficial or official transcript is due at the same time as this application, but it must be submitted through Parchment. Please refer to the instructions for requesting a transcript via DNHS’s Parchment service at https://delnorte.aps.edu/our-school/counselor/transcripts. When prompted for a recipient e-mail address, please send the transcript to scholarships@alumknights.info.
Selection Process:
Applications will be evaluated in February to determine the rating/ranking of applicants based on selection criteria developed by the AlumKnights Student Support Committee. Students who submit the proper application material and are selected through a preliminary selection review will be invited to participate in a formal interview with members of the AlumKnights Student Support Committee in March. The final awardee(s) will be selected and notified no later than April 25, 2025.
